Minas Chrysopoulo, MD, FACS

Dr. Minas Chrysopoulo, or “Dr. C,” is a board-certified plastic surgeon, breast reconstruction surgeon and microsurgeon who provides state-of-the-art breast reconstruction at PRMA Plastic Surgery in San Antonio, Texas.

Dr. Chrysopoulo is a pioneer in breast reconstructive surgery and advocacy for breast cancer patients. Not only did Dr. C develop the Breast Advocate App, a free application that provides anyone with a breast cancer diagnosis or at risk of developing breast cancer with evidence-based, personalized information, but he is also one of the select surgeons now offering Resensation℠ to women across the U.S. The new surgical technique uses nerve repair technology to potentially restore sensation to a woman’s chest after a mastectomy.

A woman’s overall health, lifestyle, financial resources, and her personal preferences and goals all factor into the decision about whether to pursue breast reconstruction.

Shared decision-making in breast reconstruction

Dr. Chrysopoulo believes that shared decision-making between a doctor and patient is important in achieving optimal breast reconstruction outcomes. He has built his practice around collaborating with patients and ensuring they understand all their surgical options after a mastectomy.

In addition to advanced breast reconstruction techniques, Dr. C’s expertise includes short scar breast surgery, cosmetic surgery of the breast and body, and scar healing. He is also chief science officer of C&H Scientific, Inc, which developed the scar treatment InviCible. Dr. C regularly speaks at regional and national academic meetings, and he has authored or co-authored several book chapters and scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals.
