Richard Kline, MD

Dr. Richard Kline provides advanced free flap breast reconstruction procedures that use women’s own tissue to build soft, natural breasts after a mastectomy. Board certified in plastic surgery, Dr. Kline is the co-founder of the The Center for Natural Breast Reconstruction in Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina.

Dr. Kline has been at the leading-edge of breast reconstruction throughout his career, performing the first DIEP flap reconstruction in the Southeast. The pioneering surgeon now offers women the possibility of restoring sensation after a mastectomy with Resensation℠. The breakthrough technique utilizes allograft nerve tissue to connect nerves in the chest and potentially return sensation over time.

While breast reconstruction can restore the shape, size, symmetry and softness of breasts – known as the four “S’s” – reconstruction doesn’t typically focus on the fifth “S,” sensation.

Restoring body image after a mastectomy

Dr. Kline is passionate about helping women restore their self-esteem and body image following a mastectomy by offering breast reconstruction using their own natural tissue. He performs a variety of free flap procedures, including GAP, DIEP, PAP and SIEA flaps.

The goal at The Center for Natural Breast Reconstruction is to give women natural new breasts without the loss of muscle or use of artificial implants. With Resensation, Dr. Kline can now potentially give patients new breasts that look – and feel – more natural to the woman.
