Aldona Spiegel, MD
Aldona J. Spiegel, MD is an advanced breast reconstruction surgeon who founded and serves as director of the Center for Breast Restoration at The Methodist Hospital’s Institute for Reconstructive Surgery in Houston, Texas. As a board-certified plastic surgeon specializing in breast reconstruction and microsurgery, Dr. Spiegel provides patient-focused care that is tailored to help women recover physically and emotionally after a mastectomy.
Her surgical expertise is in autologous (free flap) breast reconstruction procedures that use the patient’s own tissue to make new breasts. Dr. Spiegel has performed more than 1,500 breast reconstruction procedures and pioneered new techniques to improve post-mastectomy outcomes. She now offers the Resensation® technique, which can potentially reestablish sensation in the chest by reconnecting the nerves in the free flap with those in the chest during autologous reconstructive surgery.
