Jaime Flores, MD
Jaime Flores, MD offers state-of-the-art aesthetic and breast reconstruction surgical techniques at Flores Plastic Surgery in Miami, Florida. A board-certified plastic surgeon, he provides a wide range of leading-edge breast reconstruction techniques like ReSensation℠ in a safe, comfortable environment.
With the ReSensation technique, Dr. Flores can connect the nerves in the newly restored breast during autologous (free flap) breast reconstruction. This gives patients the opportunity to not only look, but also potentially feel, more like themselves again after a mastectomy.
While breast reconstruction can restore the shape, size, symmetry and softness of breasts – known as the four “S’s” – reconstruction doesn’t typically focus on the fifth “S,” sensation.
Baptist Hospital of Miami
Dr. Flores received a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Johns Hopkins Hospital and graduated from University of Maryland Medical School. He completed residences in plastic and reconstructive surgery and otolaryngology.
He refined his surgical expertise at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he pioneered a new reconstruction breast surgery, the LSGAP, also known as the “Flores flap.” The muscle-sparing procedure harvests tissue from the upper outer gluteal (“love handle”) to build new breasts, which may be an option for patients who have little abdominal tissue. While he now practices in Miami, Dr. Flores continues to have a full-time faculty position in the division of plastic and reconstructive surgery at Johns Hopkins.
Restoring women’s breasts after a mastectomy with innovative techniques
Dr. Flores performs more than 650 cosmetic and reconstructive surgeries each year. Whether patients are seeking correction, enhancement or rejuvenation, he delights in meeting the unique goals of each patient. He offers clients discrete, in-house procedures in his custom-built surgical suite, and his goal is to give patients a personalized experience and natural results.
Dr. Flores also regularly does philanthropic work locally and internationally. He participates in several medical missions each year, where he performs surgeries for cleft lips, burns scars and other congenital deformities in areas that lack access to medical care.
