Snehankita Kulkarni, MD

Snehankita Kulkarni, MD, is a compassionate, leading-edge plastic surgeon offering post-mastectomy breast reconstruction in Charlotte, North Carolina. Board certified in general and plastic surgery, Dr. Kulkarni offers women facing breast cancer and mastectomy with the latest techniques in breast reconstruction at CMC Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery, including the new Resensation℠ technique.

Dr. Kulkarni uses Resensation to reconnect the nerves in the breast during autologous, or free flap, breast reconstruction. The technique utilizes allograft (donated) nerve tissue that supports nerve growth over time, giving women the possibility of a gradual return of sensation to the newly restored breast.

While breast reconstruction can restore the shape, size, symmetry and softness of breasts – known as the four “S’s” – reconstruction doesn’t typically focus on the fifth “S,” sensation.
